Huntly Common was established in 2020 and is focused solely on the development and retreatment of surface gold tailings deposits for gold production at Huntly Streamside Reserve. Huntly Common proposes to remove and treat 4 million tonnes of historical mining tailings that currently cover the surface of Huntly Streamside Reserve in a conventional process of tailings recovery.

As a new company, the team at Huntly Common worked with our design team and marketing and copywriting consultants to design and develop their new brand identity and visual system, including the website.

The Huntly Common logomark is a stylised map of Bendigo Creek representing the flow of water with two lines - one for water, one for the land (and a stylised H and C highlighted in green).The open lines represent the company's overall aims to replenish and refurbish the streamside i.e. movement and removal of tailings. Recognition of the Dja Dja Wurrung Traditional Owners is seen in the influence of the overall shape - this is based on their Jaara People and Rivers and Waterways symbols (per their website). The logo and brand colour palette (2 primary colours and 11 accent colours) are colours picked from an actual image of the creek, combined with shades of gold and surrounding earth.

From the new identity our design team developed a full suite of corporate stationery including business cards (printed at our print facilities), email signatures, letterhead and other document templates and touch points. These design elements are continued in the new website that primarily aims to provide stakeholders and community information and updates about the project: opportunities, benefits and outcomes. The site is built on a modern, responsive CMS and includes various image galleries, videos, a news blog and easy to user interface. The site design incorporates the logo elements and shapes throughout the page segments, while the earthy colour palette is applied across unique pages.
