ACM CRC Rebrand and Website
Launched: 2024 | Project length: 6 months
Rogue were appointed to work on the rebrand project for Australian Composites Manufacturing (ACM) CRC, previously, SOMAC CRC, in 2023.
Our deliverables of the project included developing the new logo, visual identity, stationery, iconography, collateral, templates, styleguide, and, of course, the new website. We produced this project in conjunction with Susan Waterer of Waterer Communications, where we continue to jointly provide consultancy services to the ACM CRC for their requirements.
Project background:
ACM CRC is a 10 year Cooperative Research Centre focused on sovereign manufacturing automation for composite materials. The CRC is a capable and creative consortium of industry, government, and research partners. Their vision is to transform Australia’s established composite technologies capability into a world-class, highly automated, digitally enabled network of designers, manufacturers, and service providers. Through four Research Programs they aim to knock down the barriers spanning the current composites development lifecycle, from material design to product realisation.
The rebrand from SOMAC CRC to ACM CRC was facilitated to better reflect the depth and significance the consortium will bring to Australia’s composite manufacturing industry. The name Sovereign Manufacturing Automation for Composites CRC is quite a mouthful. Plus, it didn’t really capture the impressive breadth of targets this cooperative research centre has set out to achieve. For further details read the full rebrand release here.
The rebrand was a multi-stakeholder project that required engagement and input from the diverse partners involved with the CRC. The ACM CRC was officially launched in late 2023.
Logo development:
Our challenge with the logo development was to visually communicate the core brand messages and stakeholder preferences, along with symbolically representing composite layering, manufacturing and a futuristic and modern look and feel.
The final logomark is a stylised A, C and M representing composite manufacturing and automation (flow, movement) through the connected, overlapping shapes and colours.
